Mary Tam
Senior Manager, "Up to Us" Campaign
I oversee the Up to Us campaign, supporting undergraduate university teams as they compete to design and execute campus-specific campaigns. In partnership with the Peter G. Peterson Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative University, this project leverages the passion and ingenuity of Millennials to raise awareness around and increase engagement on fiscal and economic issues.
Prior to joining Net Impact, I worked for Mercy Corps, an international humanitarian and development organization. My 10 years of nonprofit experience are augmented by an MBA from SF State’s EMBA program. When I’m not busy checking boxes off my to-do list(s), I find passion in recreation. Past love affairs have included salsa dancing and taiko drumming, and my current work-in-progress is flamenco.
The best advice I ever got was:
Don’t limit yourself. Many have said this in different ways.
The most satisfying thing about my work is:
Fusing program design, community development, and key messaging to move toward a larger goal. Either that or how much everyone appreciated my banana bread the other day.
The last song I listened to was:
A cover of Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger.”
