Scott Kleinman
VP, Development & Corporate Relations
I believe that business must be part of the solution to the world’s challenges, and that doing good is compatible with doing well. So I use my 20+ years of private sector marketing, business development, and nonprofit development experience to create mutually beneficial relationships between Net Impact and our corporate, philanthropic, and individual funders. Yes, that means I raise money. Which is easy to feel excited about when you believe in the results your organization produces.
I’ve worked in companies large and small, including Morgan Stanley, International Data Group and Scient, and at nonprofits including Common Sense Media and World Affairs Council of Northern California. In all of these roles, I’ve found the most successful business relationships are based on trust and shared interests. Those are the kind of relationships I, along with my team, build with our funders.
I have a BA in history from Yale University and an MBA from Stanford University.
I grew up wanting to be:
A baseball player.
My most useless skill is:
Doing headstands in the office.
The most satisfying thing about my work is:
Talking with people who really get the idea that business can do better.
The part of my job that keeps me heading to work each day is:
Believing in our mission.
