Sun Microsystem Hosts OpenEco Energy Camp
Sun Microsystems brought its second annual OpenEco Energy Camp to the Net Impact Conference on Saturday November 15, 2008! We are excited to have special OpenEco Community partners and supporters World Resources Institute (WRI), Climate Leaders, and Natural Logic take part in the discussion. This event is an unconference style gathering which will allow all attendees to take part in the conversation and share their ideas about sustainable business operations. As energy costs continue to soar and the effects of burning fossil fuels keep degrading our environment, it is imperative that the business community actively drive innovation around sustainability.
At OpenEco Energy Camp, attendees had the opportunity to participate in discussions and share ideas about sustainability, energy best practices, carbon accounting and how they enhance the success of tomorrow's businesses.
OpenEco.org is a global on-line community focused on energy performance, sharing best practices to reduce greenhousegas (GHG) emissions, and encouraging sustainable innovation. The OpenEco Community was launched in 2007 and focuses on how technology can help create a sustainable future. This is an open source project dedicated to sharing ideas around sustainability. The OpenEco.org Platform code has been open sourced. The OpenEco Community is excited to be revealing OpenEco.org 2.0 at the Net Impact Conference with new features and functionality.
