Hult Global Case Challenge

Open to: Undergraduates, Graduates

Putting affordable e-readers in the hands of low-income children. Providing safe, secure housing for families living in slums. Providing renewable power to whole communities in developing countries. These are just three ways global poverty might be alleviated at a grassroots level — but the Hult Global Case Challenge needs your business expertise to make it happen.

This is the world's largest case competition, held in partnership with the Clinton Global Initiative, with winners recognized by President Bill Clinton. Teams of students will be given a case study describing a real issue faced by a nonprofit member of the Clinton Global Initiative, and challenged to develop game-changing solutions in one of three tracks designed to work towards tackling global poverty: education, energy, and housing. This year's partner nonprofits include One Laptop Per Child, SolarAid, and Habitat for Humanity.

Teams with the best ideas will be selected to compete at one of five international cities: Boston, San Francisco, London, Dubai, and Shanghai (a sixth "virtual" site will be facilitated via Facebook, for those whose economic means restrict them from attending in person). Finalists will be flown to New York City to present their plans to a panel of world-class CEOs and NGO executives, and one winner from each track will win the title of Global Champion.

Through this real nonprofit case study, you’ll put your business smarts to the test, gain invaluable experience in social innovation and, ultimately, compete to implement a $1 million solution that truly counts.
