Director, Partner Programs

Net Impact’s Director of Partner Programs is responsible for radically growing and enriching our hands-on engagement opportunities for students and young professionals to apply their skills to address global issues. The Director will manage a team tasked with creating exceptional, unique, and meaningful opportunities for undergrads, grad students, and young professionals around the world to engage with social and environmental issues via custom events, hackathons, competitions, and more.

Currently Net Impact runs a limited number of signature, revenue-generating challenges, events, and internships each year. Our goal is to systematize, add creative elements, and exponentially expand this area of programming so it becomes a world-changing part of our organization. We are looking for a visionary, creative leader and meticulous executor to join us to lead the charge.

A key part of the role will be interfacing with corporate partners to design and execute programs that both leverage the interests and talents of Net Impact’s membership and provide value to the funding partner.

The Director of Partner Programs role will work closely with Net Impact’s development team and program teams, and will manage a staff of 3-4.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing innovative programs designed to engage a large number of people in hands-on events; you have a proven ability to problem solve and think outside the box; you can generate 100 creative ideas, prioritize the best ones, and then turn them into well-executed realities
  • Proven business development skills: you have an exceptionally high level of professionalism and an outstanding ability to work with prospective funders to match their business interests with an organization’s program capabilities
  • Strong stakeholder management: you excel at generating enthusiastic support for projects that rely on colleagues beyond your team for execution
  • Superior communicator: you can stand in front of a room of 300 people, whether it’s top executives at a corporate office or graduate students on a campus in Mumbai, and inspire them to dive headfirst into your program opportunities
  • Multi-tasking: you thrive under pressure and have the ability to juggle multiple major projects, stay calm and prioritized, and exceed expectations even when times are busy
    • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to travel up to 25% time

Bonus Qualifications

  • Specific experience with developing offline and online challenges, hackathons, or similar ideation experience
  • Team management experience
  • Experience running programs internationally

    Senior Web Editor

    The Senior Web Editor will bring Net Impact's voice and vision to life online, conceiving and executing the ongoing content development strategy for netimpact.org to deliver an engaging online experience to our member community.

    As a member of the web team and collaborating closely with our marketing and program teams, the Senior Web Editor will be responsible for setting the overall editorial direction of our website, performing daily updates, creating original features, and managing both internal and external contributors. The ideal candidate is a skilled writer and editor who also has an eye for usability best practices and enthusiasm for leveraging web technologies to produce great content.

    Responsibilities include:

    Content development and editing

    • Create and maintain original web content in support of Net Impact’s program initiatives, with an emphasis on developing resources for exploring and working in jobs that make social or environmental impact
    • Update the homepage and major sections to reflect communications priorities
    • Write and edit headlines, summaries, and other microcopy to accompany and promote articles
    • Ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all online content and enforce style guidelines for both text and layout
    • Properly categorize and tag content in accordance with established taxonomies
    • Establish and train staff on editorial procedures and workflow
    • Help manage content partners and contributors, including writers, designers, and videographers
    • Keep current with trends relevant to Net Impact's membership

    Content strategy, optimization, and promotion

    • In partnership with marketing and program teams, develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy consistent with organizational goals and user needs
    • Identify metrics for success and participate in ongoing measurement and tracking
    • Optimize web content for conversion on calls to action, search engine traffic, and other key performance indicators
    • Research and propose innovative, user-focused ways of packaging and presenting content
    • Collaborate with marketing team to align content creation with distribution plans and promotion

    Required Qualifications

    • BA/BS or graduate degree (English, communications, or related degree a plus)
    • 5+ years experience creating content for digital media
    • Exceptional written communication and organizational skills
    • Demonstrated ability to define an editorial vision and execute it, including evaluation of testing data and metrics to iterate and optimize
    • Meticulous attention to detail in conforming to established styles and best practices
    • Experience working on highly collaborative, cross-functional teams
    • Basic familiarity with content management systems, image processing, and HTML
    • Expertise in the social and environmental impact career space and experience curating user-generated content a plus
