Could better training lead to more impactful financing practices? Many young professionals in finance are driven by non-financial passions for the environment or social justice. As new talent enters the industry, they hope to influence this powerful sector and positively impact our global economies. However, most training programs have not evolved to reflect emerging practices such as ESG integration. Analysts enter the workforce with limited or insufficient training on how to conduct ESG analysis. This event will begin with a short presentation of research into training programs and their limitations in preparing the financial industry for ESG analysis. Based on this research, several recommendations will be presented. The goal of this event is to convene new analysts and program instructors for a conversation on this issue and explore how analyst education could evolve. Not only will these future leaders brainstorm solutions, but they will have the opportunity to build connections, expand their network and reflect on their training programs and how to build ESG mastery. Topics to be discussed: · Findings on research into ESG integration in analyst training programs, such as the Chartered Financial Analyst or Chartered SRI Counselor · Challenges and limitations to integrating ESG effectively in training programs, such as a focus on short-termism and a lack of standardization · Recommendations for improving analyst training programs to better integrate ESG, such as by enhancing the rigor and continuously updating curriculum Registration link: https://www.impactcapitalforum.org/event-4213964 ICF Members can pre-register at no cost.
