Aspiritech, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was founded by Moshe and Brenda Weitzberg in 2008, to provide meaningful employment and support to their son on the autism spectrum.
Aspiritech is the first company of its kind in North America to provide vocational training to neurodivergent individuals on the autism spectrum, followed by professional IT employment in software testing and quality assurance (QA), fields where the unique strengths of autism can be a vocational asset. Aspiritech provides its workforce with a wide range of support services and programs, including continuing career development, social opportunity, and needs-based grants. Aspiritech has been at the forefront of the neurodiversity movement and grown to be a premier employer of neurodivergent individuals on the autism spectrum in IT. Aspiritech works with dozens of client companies and brings in revenue of more than $6.2MM. While Aspiritech has nonprofit tax status, it is run very much like an entrepreneurial, growing business. Business needs are balanced with the dynamics of providing the necessary nurturing and support to team members on the autism spectrum.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, Aspiritech is seeking a highly competent, mission-driven business leader with a proven track record in scaling organizations ideally in the technology space. The CEO will be commit-ted to the mission and to nurturing the unique staffing model of providing employment support specialists and job coaches for team members on the autism spectrum at all times. The Board seeks a strong visionary with motivational leadership skills and experience developing strategy and business plans.
The CEO is responsible for the strategic processes of the organization, developing and executing its strategic plan and policies, delivery and maintenance of its programs, revenue growth, private philanthropy and all components that support program delivery and overall organizational well-being. The CEO manages the budget and 130 full and part-time staff. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of professional accomplishments that demonstrates innovative and collaborative leadership, superior performance, and the ability to articulate and build consensus around major initiatives. Demonstrated experience scaling an outcomes-based organization is needed.
Qualified candidates will have demonstrated accomplishments in business development and/or fundraising. They should possess demonstrated success in external relations, including experience speaking with the media in a variety of situations. Experience in a senior leadership role reporting directly to or working closely with a Board of Directors is desired. The new leader will work with the Board to identify opportunities for Aspiritech to continue to innovate programs and strategic partnerships with corporate clients as well as other community-based organizations. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a neurodiverse staff and balance the needs of this staff with a growing business enterprise, is required. An undergraduate degree from a four-year college or university is required, graduate degree such as MBA, preferred. Minimum of ten years of senior level management experience is sought.
