ESG Strategic Project Coordinator

Summary:       The Strategic Project Coordinator will manage and monitor the activities of special projects assigned within the Executive Division, as well as work on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) projects, including the development of ESG strategies. Analyzes and monitors progress against ESG data and targets. Analyzes reports for CEO on Bank performance and monitors status on bank strategies.

Job Description:

  • Independently manages, monitors, and evaluates the progress on special projects as assigned throughout the Bank and within the Executive Division. 
  • Interacts and collaborates with various project leaders and divisions to execute projects and ensure that the work aligns to strategic objectives. 
  • Evaluates project flow, reporting project status and results of completed work and conducts review meetings to keep projects on track. Enables project work to be prioritized.
  • Work on ESG Projects including the development of ESG strategies. 
  • Works with outside consultants and internal teams to evaluate ESG assessments, co-ordinate ESG data collection and to ensure data consistency and quality. 
  • Analyzes and monitors progress against ESG data and targets and recommends strategies as appropriate to improve Company ratings. Collaborates with the internal teams on projects to support a successful ESG program.
  • Monitors the Major Action Plans and other Bank strategies within the Banks Strategic Plan.    
  • Provides oversight or assistance to ensure plans are completed on a timely basis as necessary. 
  • Represents the President’s office on various committees and projects to ensure timeliness on the execution of Bank strategies. 
  • Collects and analyzes Bank performance data used by the CEO to manage and oversee the Bank’s activities and results. 
  • Communicates the information using various reports, memorandums and presentations. Makes recommendations to ensure corporate communication remains appropriate and effective.  
  • Monitors Incentive Plan effectiveness. Evaluates incentive plans and makes recommendations for modifications and enhancements as needed.
  • Assists with the Columbia Bank Foundation and Corporate Governance Matters as needed.
  • Performs other job related duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; 
  • Proven experience in project management or applicable experience in an analytical role;
  • Strong research, critical thinking, and analytical skills;
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines;
  • Highly organized with ability to prioritize workload effectively and work methodically to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Provides support with data collection and produces high quality presentations and reports.
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and in a group environment;
  • Ability to develop strong partnerships across lines of business to achieve goals;
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;  
  • Microsoft Office skills: advanced in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
