About the PositionThe GIIN has worked to support the scale and sophistication of the impact investing industry by building a vibrant community of impact investors and equipping them to deploy capital at scale and with integrity. The GIIN’s membership, now comprised of over 400 organizations, continues to grow in both scale and breadth, with strategic growth opportunities in multiple geographies.
The Member Engagement team provides services and programming to this burgeoning community. The wide range of engagement opportunities are designed to support peer exchange, learning, and collaboration amongst members.
A subset of the membership is a group of companies which comprise the GIIN’s recently launched Corporate Impact Investing Initiative. This new stream of work aims to support companies in engaging with and in impact investing in a more strategic manner, including through the use of corporate treasury assets. The Initiative also focuses on uniting the complementary strengths of corporations and impact investors to drive more capital into addressing urgent problems.
The Member Engagement team is seeking two Associates—a Membership Associate and a Corporate Impact Investing Associate—to support with program administration, event management, relationship management, and other activities pertaining to member engagement and growth.
The Membership Associate will report to the Director of Membership Growth & Global Operations. The Corporate Impact Investing Associate will report to the Director of Corporate Impact Investing.
Core Responsibilities for Both Roles:
Event planning and support
- Provide logistical support for activities and events, including sending invitations, managing registration, venue and other vendor research, procurement and purchasing of supplies, etc.
- Support setting up and running the logistics for virtual convenings and webinars
- Produce participant materials for in-person and virtual convenings, such as attendee lists, sign-up sheets, nametags, participant packets, etc.
- Support post-event close-down, including surveying attendees, sending follow-up emails, and reconciling attendance reports
- Coordinate member outreach across different GIIN programs, including newsletters, update emails, etc.
- Conduct desk research as needed to support content development
Relationship management
- Support the Director/Manager with introductory and onboarding calls, and other recurring calls.
- Interface with members and other stakeholders as needed to support programming and organizational goals.
- Create and update contact information and call notes in Salesforce.
Marketing and communications
- Work with the Communications Team to maintain and update marketing material relevant GIIN webpages
Other
- Additional responsibilities as needed, including scheduling calls and other support for the Chief Investor Network Officer, and supporting reporting on grant deliverables
Membership Associate Responsibilities:
Membership administration
- Support membership administration, such as processing membership applications, scheduling on-boarding and check-in calls, and responding to general inquiries.
- Work in collaboration with the Member Engagement Coordinator to manage the online member portal and the member services email account, responding to member inquiries and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Support the Operations Administrator and Finance team with the invoicing process for membership dues.
- Track and update member information and engagement data in Salesforce and in other formats as needed.
Corporate Impact Investing Associate Responsibilities:
Program administration
- Support program administration, such as maintaining and tracking work plans in Asana.
- Identify and develop processes around communications and project management to better deliver the program goals.
Event planning and Working Group support
- Project manage the planning and execution of working group meetings.
- Draft materials in support of working group meetings, including briefing documents, agendas, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Develop summary notes and keep track of agreed action items
Candidate Profile:
These are primarily program support positions and play a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of activities. The GIIN is seeking candidates who are self-starters and energized about supporting a field-building organization dedicated to growing the impact investing market.
Applicants should have a high degree of professionalism, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professional verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The Associate must
also be highly responsible, collaborative, resourceful, and flexible. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who takes initiative to consistently perform to high standards. Experience working in a professional office environment is preferred.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (business / finance or related degree a plus)
- Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- • Possesses a strong client/service orientation (genuinely enjoys interacting with clients), with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of computer software applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with, and aptitude for, technology solutions and databases, such as Salesforce, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Asana, MailChimp, Pardot, etc.
- Team-orientation, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Proactive communicator who identifies problems, communicates them, and takes initiative to solve them.
- Interest or experience in impact investing.
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours at times of peak project flow.
- Personable, engaging presence with diplomacy, tact, and good humor.
- For the Corporate Impact Investing Associate position, interest or experience in corporate sustainability and strategy

Desired experience:
- Work experience demonstrating exceptional administrative, organizational, project management, and/or event planning abilities.
- Experience in/with the financial sector.
- Experience managing account/client relations.
Location: This position will be based in our New York City office with significant remote work flexibility offered through the GIIN’s hybrid in-person/remote work model.
Compensation: The GIIN is committed to pay equity. Salary is determined based on experience and qualifications. Salary range for this position is between $48,000-$60,000, with an excellent benefits package.
