Thinking about jobs? Five ways to advance your career at NI14 | Net Impact

There’s nothing we love more than helping our members find job opportunities and advance their careers. Making a positive impact is as important to the students and professionals in our network as it is to us, so we spend a lot of time helping people find resources and connections. We do that not only through our programs, resources, and support network, but also through our annual flagship conference.

In fact, we’re doing more than ever before to make sure this year’s conference attendees leave the event feeling prepared and optimistic. Take a look at five of the ways this year’s conference can help you get even savvier about your career:

1) Pre-Conference Boot Camps

These intensive, half-day training sessions give you the chance to take a deep dive with expert facilitators and leave with new knowledge and tangible skills to make an impact or to help navigate a job search.

This year’s boot camps include The Insider’s Guide to the Impact Job Search, Delegate and Deliver: Managing for Results, and Stakeholder Engagement: Strategies to Align Power with Purpose.

2) 1:1 Career Mentoring

We’re planning a few new activities at the conference this year, and one of the most exciting is the opportunity to connect 1:1 with mentors through the conference. Mentors will include corporate executives, entrepreneurs, and career coaches. These mentors will help attendees structure an approach to launching or developing an impact career.

3) The Expo

The Net Impact Expo is the premier networking event of the conference and brings together 2,700 students and professionals with companies and organizations committed to making a social and environmental impact.

This year’s Expo will feature 100 exhibitors from the for-profit, nonprofit, higher-education, and government sectors that range in size and reach from small regional nonprofits to Fortune 500 companies.

4) Intimate & Large-Scale Networking Opportunities

Inspiration, ideation, and opportunity don't just happen in breakout sessions or at our Expo – you’ll find lots of ways to connect with our speakers and other attendees throughout the weekend informally, too, to discuss relevant topics and industry trends.

For example, you can sign up for a no-host dinner, where you can explore specific conference tracks with experts who work in those areas and attendees who hold similar interests. And just like last year, we'll have networking salons, which give you the chance to discuss  with leading organizations some of the challenges your industry is facing.

5) Conference Tracks

Our 10 conference tracks—from Sustainable Food & Agriculture to Finance & Investing—are designed so that you can choose a conference experience that really suits you, whether you’re seeking specific advice within a job path or looking for inspiration that spans across the whole field.

With all of these opportunities at NI14, we’re confident that you’ll leave Minneapolis with career confidence and skills that will help you stand out from the crowd. If you’d like to join us, register for NI14 here
