Help us generate groundbreaking ideas to nourish 9 billion healthy people by 2050.

UC Davis has been chosen as one of two campuses to launch a national series designed for students who want to work side-by-side with experts to engage with this critical issue and develop solutions that could change the world.

This event will focus on the question:

"What social innovations would produce more and more nutritious food with less waste while also conserving land?"

Why attend?

You’ll gain valuable, cutting-edge skills in Lean Startup social innovation and systems thinking – marketable and concrete skills you can put to use in your classes and beyond.
You’ll meet and work side-by-side with other students from across campus, as well as leading food systems experts.
You’ll make your ideas heard. Industry leaders working on food challenges will see YOUR ideas at the event, through social media, and at the Net Impact Conference.
What to expect

The four-hour event will kick off with rapid-fire presentations from food systems experts, followed by a Q&A session. We have confirmed representatives from the following organizations, with more to come:

United States Department of Agriculture
The Monsanto Company
The World Food Center at UC Davis
You’ll then break into groups with the experts to develop specific ideas and solutions, which you’ll pitch to everyone else, including the experts, at the event. You'll receive feedback live from the experts, and we'll supply additional feedback after the event so you can flesh out your ideas.

Dig into the complex issues surrounding our global food system. Come and be part of an experience that can transform your passion into powerful action!
