Chapter Resource Communities Application

Interested in connecting with fellow Net Impact Chapter Leaders on a more regular and consistent basis? Want to learn more about what other Chapter Leaders are doing with their members, opportunities to collaborate, and share advice and resources to support your Chapter’s success?

Net Impact is excited to launch a new opportunity this year - Chapter Resources Communities (CRCs) - focused on helping Chapter Leaders (CLs) connect, collaborate, and learn from one another.

Picture of hands

Your Chapter will identify one leader to become the Chapter’s representative and apply to participate in a CRC. Your Chapter may only be a part of one CRC. Each CRC will consist of 4-6 Chapter Representatives, who will decide together if they would like to open their meetings up to other Chapter Leaders or Members.

Net Impact Central will determine the groupings for CRCs. You will be matched with other Chapter Leaders based on your application and data shared during annual reporting. CRC representatives are encouraged to dedicate approximately 3 hours per month towards meetings or other activities within their CRC.

It will be up to the CRC to determine how they would like to connect and engage with each other and if they would like to create opportunities for their Chapter members to connect as well. CRC representatives may decide to each work with their Chapters on community-based projects based on a common theme, such as one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals; host a virtual event together; or may simply meet once a month to connect, share what their Chapters are working on, and brainstorm solutions to challenges in their Chapters or ways to better engage their members.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of participating in a CRC?

One of the most common questions Net Impact staff receive from Chapter Leaders is: How can I connect with other Chapters? The main benefit of participating in a CRC is that it provides a platform for Chapters Leaders to connect regularly. By participating in a CRC, you will expand your network of fellow CLs and gain an opportunity to learn from each other and share resources and knowledge with one another in an easy and accessible way. CRCs also provide a way for CLs to leverage their collective knowledge, skills and resources to create a positive impact in their communities or within their own Chapters.

What am I required to do if I participate in a CRC?

The mandatory commitments of participating in a CRC are minimal.

  • Your Chapter must select one CL to serve as the representative to participate in the CRC.
  • The CRC representative will need to participate in a virtual kickoff with Net Impact staff.
  • The CRC representative must be willing to engage with their fellow CRC representatives and share any outcomes or lessons learned through their CRC meetings with their fellow Chapter members.
  • The CRC representative will also be asked to provide monthly updates about their CRC via a dedicated Net Impact CL slack channel.
  • Upon closing out their engagement in the CRC in 2023, the CRC representative will be asked to submit a brief post-program report.

The full list of required commitments will be outlined in the CRC participant agreement which you will review upon applying.

Who is eligible to apply?

Any member of your Chapter’s leadership team that is at least 18 years old is eligible to apply to participate in a CRC. CRCs are open to all Net Impact chapters globally.

Can our CLs apply to participate in more than one CRC?

Your Chapter will identify one leader to become the Chapter’s representative and apply to participate in a CRC. Your Chapter may only be a part of one CRC, and the reps of each CRC will decide together if they would like to invite other Chapter Leaders or Members to participate in their meetings or activities.

Who should be our designated CRC representative?

It is 100% up to your Chapter to determine who on your leadership team would be designated as the “CRC representative” and that person will be responsible for communicating with Net Impact Central and participating in the CRC on behalf of your Chapter. In thinking about who from your Chapter’s leadership team would be a good fit to serve as the CRC representative, consider the time commitment that is expected of each representative (at least 3 hours per month) and who would be effective at staying engaged with their fellow CRC Reps and sharing out with your Chapter about learnings and information.

Will I be matched with other CLs in my local community or region?

Probably not. We also want to encourage broad Chapter collaboration and connection building across countries, states, and regions, to encourage Chapter Leaders to learn from, and connect with, other CLs that they may not typically have a chance to engage with.

Will CRC representatives be expected to meet in-person or complete activities in person?

CRCs will not be expected to meet in person or to complete in-person activities together. While it might be the case that some CRCs can and choose to do this, it is not a requirement.

Who should I contact if I have questions?

Please contact chapters@netimpact.org if you have any questions
