The Net Impact Chapter hosted Dr. Tima Bansal who gave a very interesting presentation

Dr. Tima Bansal holds the Canada Research Chair of Business Sustainability at the Ivey Business School (Western University, London, Canada). Graduating with a DPhil in Management Studies from the University of Oxford, she has been researching issues of business strategy and sustainability for about 25 years. Her research has been cited in The Independent, Wall Street Journal, The Globe and Mail, and National Post. She has also co-edited two books on Business and the Natural Environment (Oxford University Press; Butterworth Heinmann) and was an Associate Editor of one of her discipline's top journals, the Academy of Management Journal, from 2011-2013. Some of ideas being proposed for this book have been seeded in a TEDxtalk.

Dr. Bansal directs Ivey's research centre for Building Sustainable Value, and founded and directs the Network for Business Sustainability (nbs.net). Both these organizations aim to strengthen the ties between research and practice, and reach over 10,000 managers and academics annually. She is the only Canadian to have been awarded the Aspen’s Institute title of Faculty Pioneer for Academic Leadership, which was coined as the “Oscars of the Business School world” by the Financial Times. In 2011, she was appointed to the inaugural Clean50 with 49 other Canadians for the significant contributions they have made to advance the cause of sustainability and clean capitalism.
