OSB Going GREEN is a program implemented at the Olayan School of Business at AUB that seeks to create awareness on CSR and sustainability to the various stakeholders of the building including: students, staff, academic and non-academic staff.
The program was launched in February 2015 and is still ongoing. The program encompassed a series of events and workshops that aimed at highlighting various areas pertaining to sustainability including: energy efficiency, recycling, water usage reduction, waste reduction and finding ways to tackle the above mentioned areas.
To date, we have reached the following milestones:
• Initiating a student competition related to environmental awareness where the students needed to formulate a recycling strategy for the Business School. The winning team got the chance to implement this strategy
• Inviting senior level managers to share their experience on how to implement an environmentally sustainable initiative
• Liaising with the Environment Department at the American University of Beirut to obtain Reverse Vending Machines and promote them in the building.
• Cuting-off the electricity in the school after working hours and on weekends
