NET Impact Bristol’s first Sustainable Cinema screening and discussion will be Cowspiracy: investigating the carbon footprint and environmental impact of farming

Film

Cowspiracy is an American documentary asking challenging questions to environmental charities about world farming farming practices and carbon; discussions that they don’t feel comfortable campaigning on.

Discussion

To bring it back to a UK and local context, following the film we will run an informal panel discussion to explore practical ways to address your own food carbon footprint.

Panelists will include:

Dr Steve Allen, Environmental Sustainability Expert Circular Ecology – who specialises in carbon and water footprinting for various diets and farming models.

Rob Percival, Food & Health Policy Officer, Soil Association – discussing the ‘eat less and better meat’ message.

Bea Oliver, Bristol Pound Real Economy Project – a pioneering project from Bristol’s local currency which is promoting and supporting local growers and food projects.

Lyndsey Knight, Communications & Community, FoodTrade, Lyndsey helps build FoodTrade’s global food map and guides food businesses to create positive change

Arrive from 6pm for local food served by the Spotless Leopard and a chance to mingle over a drink.
