Lindsay Saperstone will be giving a talk on the issue of food deserts on December 2nd from 4-5:15 in Rockwell West 103. Lindsay Saperstone is the Denver Healthy Corner Store Initiative program administrator. This program works to increase access to healthy food in designated food deserts, which are areas that lack access to fresh, healthy, and affordable food.

Launched in 2014 by Denver Department of Environmental Health (DEH), The Denver Healthy Corner Store Initiative (DHCSI) helps corner store owners expand and promote their healthy/fresh food selection. Based on the success of similar programs around the country, this strategy provides more than one way to make the healthy choice the easy choice.”

In addition to working for the Healthy Corner Store Initiative, Lindsay is a serial-entrepreneur and has co-founded Wari Designs, a Peruvian jewelry and accessory company, and Mama Carts, and award-winning social enterprise helping to increase food security in high risk areas.
