Students traveled across the globe to 5 different locations to do pro-bono consulting projects in these communities. These projects range from 2 to 6 weeks in length. It is an opportunity that connects students internationally to global and societal issues. Below are details for one of the projects:

- New Hope Ecotech, Brazil (2 participants): New Hope Ecotech (NHE) aims to connect polluters with waste pickers via direct servicing and tradable environmental securities. By tracking the flow of materials in the recycling chain, NHE can issue recycling certificates. These securities/certificates (similar to Carbon Credits, but for recyclables) solve polluters’ regulatory obligations, increase recycling rates and generate additional stable income for informal waste pickers. Founded by Kellogg MBA students (Class of 2015) in a NUvention course

Project scope included doing work on one of the following asks: 1) Develop a CSR investments market assessment in Brazil and Marketing Strategy Plan to define how to approach CPG manufacturers interested in recycling investments; 2) Define a Pricing Strategy of Recycling Credits solution (similar to Carbon Credits, but for recyclables). (E.g. bidding platform, long term contracts, trading platform…), or 3) Develop market plan to increase solution adoption by waste pickers and recyclers
