Every day we are faced with a plethora of purchasing decisions that encompass both our needs and desires. Among those options are the choices of what to buy for food, clothing, electronics, shelter, and everything in between. This can all add up to a lot - the average American spends $94 dollars a day.

Purchasing, using, and discarding products is a common, and arguably mandatory practice in our modern lives. And while consumption in itself is not necessarily a bad thing, we often forget that the decisions we make as consumers have direct and significant impacts on the world around us. Recognizing the weight of our purchasing decisions from sourcing to disposal, let’s explore how we as a society can strategically shift consumption patterns to benefit our communities, our planet, and our wallets.
