Up to Us is a nationwide campus competition that empowers students to educate their peers on our long-term national debt, how it could affect their economic opportunities, and what their generation can do to have a voice in raising awareness of our fiscal challenges. Texas State team chose to redefine debt to include the 3 P's of people, planet and profit and to emphasize the local community with its challenges and opportunities--fastest growing city in the US, Stage 4 out of 5 water restrictions, $186 Million budget, $29,000/family of four/annual household income. Reduce the budget, but at what cost? Ryan Sultemeier's videos posted on Texas State Up to Us Facebook educate the students while Derek Brown's rap is noted by DM, the #1 Rap Blog in the US.
