The Alliance for Sustainable Colorado mission is to advance sustainability through collaboration among nonprofits, business, government and education. In 2004, the organization purchased a 100-year old warehouse building and adjacent empty lot in LoDo and created the Alliance Center, Denver’s multi-tenant nonprofit center for organizations working on sustainability issues. The Alliance Center was renovated “Green”, becoming the first historic building in the country to earn two Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certifications. It now provides offices, meeting space and shared services to a community of nonprofit tenants. Students toured their office space, but also had the exclusive opportunity to connect with select tenants.
