For this event at the University of Maryland we are partnering with Girls Excelling in Math and Science (GEMS) to teach science to middle school girls from Prince George's County. It will consist of two main lessons: one focused on coding and electricity, and the other on sustainability, both including fun activities such as snap circuits and light switch cover decorating that leave a long-term positive impression of the sciences on the girls. Additionally, the decorated light switch covers foster conversations with parents on sustainable life habits in their homes.
