There are inevitable challenges in any CSR career. One of the biggest challenges is learning how to add and articulate value to the company and/or partner when you are not a part of the revenue unit of the business.
As a CSR professional you will always be a voice for issues that are not necessarily core to the company and therefore you must be committed and willing to raise a voice for a voiceless community or issue.
Here are a few best practices to counteract this challenge:
Connect with private sector companies and partner and share what’s working and what’s not
Have the CSR mission be very aligned with the business vision, find synergy with what the company is trying to achieve
Always back your opinions with knowledge, understanding, and data
