CSR: Challenges and Best Practices

There are inevitable challenges in any CSR career. One of the biggest challenges is learning how to add and articulate value to the company and/or partner when you are not a part of the revenue unit of the business. 

As a CSR professional you will always be a voice for issues that are not necessarily core to the company and therefore you must be committed and willing to raise a voice for a voiceless community or issue. 

Here are a few best practices to counteract this challenge: 

  • Connect with private sector companies and partner and share what’s working and what’s not

  • Have the CSR mission be very aligned with the business vision, find synergy with what the company is trying to achieve

  • Always back your opinions with knowledge, understanding, and data
