HEAF - "THE RULE" Film Screening Event -

Join The Harlem Educational Activities Fund's (HEAF) Junior Board for a screening of the film THE RULE, a documentary that captures how one monastery called Newark Abbey, in the heart of one of America's most impoverished and violent cities, Newark, New Jersey, applies the precepts of this nearly 1500 year old handbook to its school, St. Benedict’s Prep. The Benedictine monks instill a sense of community in the most vulnerable student body: inner-city African American and Latino teenage males - who then go on to achieve amazing educational success. Learn how the prep school achieves near 100 percent college acceptance for inner-city boys.

A panel discussion will follow including filmmakers: Marylou Tibaldo-Bongiorno and Jerome Bongiorno, Justina Foggie; Manager of Corps Culture & Communications of Teach for America, and other educators.Ruth Rathblott, President and CEO of the Harlem Educational Activities Fund (HEAF), will moderate the panel.

RSVP: Seating is limited. RSVP to the email with your name and affiliation.
