Engaging Corporate Partners in a Movement to Save Play

About the Webinar

In 1996, Darell Hammond read a story in The Washington Post about Lesha and Clendon, a young sister and brother who suffocated while playing in an abandoned car because they didn’t have anywhere else to play. He was appalled by this tragedy, and it inspired him to found KaBOOM!. Since then, KaBOOM! has grown into a national nonprofit organization that – in its 15th Birthday Year – will have raised $200 million, rallied 1 million volunteers, led the hands-on construction of 2,000 playgrounds, and inspired a movement to give children the time and space to play. Drawing from his upcoming book, KaBOOM!: How One Man Built a Movement to Save Play, Darell shares his perspectives on how KaBOOM! has successfully fueled a movement through innovative, sustained relationships with America’s top corporate citizens.
